Description

Viticulture

Surface of the vineyard-20 hectares. Soil-deep gravels on limestone substrate. Plantation-51 % cabernet sauvignon, 41 % merlot, 2% cabernet franc and 6% petit verdot. Average age of the vineyard-45 years. Density-10 000 plants/ha. Yield-1 kg/plant g/plant. Growing-certified organic - in process of certification in biodynamics. Harvest-hand picking.

Vinification

Traditional in concrete and wooden vats, whose volumes are proportional to the plots. Fermentation on skins-19 to 24 days.

Wine aging

In oak barrels during 18 months. 40 % of new oak.

Vintage details

7 to 35 years.

Tasting notes

On the nose, the wine presents a great finesse and complexity. It reveals ripe black fruits (blackcurrant and elderberry), tobacco and minerality. The palate is round, fine with wrapped tannins. It is fresh and powerful. A very beautiful definition and a great elegance.
