SCEA FAMILLE MANONCOURT (SAINT-EMILION) CHATEAU FIGEAC Premier Grand Cru Classé Red 1971 Saint-Emilion grand cru

Red

Description

Viticulture

Château-Figeac owes its distinctive character to the unique combination of Gunzian gravel outcrops and clay subsoil, several microclimates and the mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot planted in the vineyard.Harvest date 4 October - 13 October.

Wine aging

100% in new oak barrels, 15 to 18 months.

Tasting notes

The wine has a fine brickish hue. Subtle notes of blond tobacco, cinnamon, caramel and mint leaf mingle pleasantly on the very appealing and complex nose. The wine is silky on the palate and very rich. Succulent blackcurrant and ripe cherry flavours impart great elegance to this Château-Figeac 1971. The velvet finish is very long.
