Biddenden was one of the first vineyards to plant Ortega in the UK in the late 1960’s. Today Ortega covers just over half of the vineyard. Ortega grapes ripen early and are known for their low acidity and high sugar levels. Ortega is widely used in dry still wines, and can also be used to make sweet wines. (Biddenden)
