Château Saint-Louis La Perdrix is located in Bellegarde, in the heart of the Camargue, between Nimes and Arles. It boasts 50 hectares of vineyards on one plot of land and 7 hectares of olive trees. Its soil, composed of smooth pebbles, contributes to the ripening of grapes on par with the best wines in the Rhone Valley.
The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in boxes to keep the berries intact. Soft pressing of whole bunches followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C.
Aged on fine lees in new 100% French barrels with occasional agitation to add volume on the palate and toasty aftertaste.
The wine has a deep color with golden hues. The complex aroma reveals notes of ginger, truffle, roasted hazelnuts and citrus fruits. Attack tastes "BIG" in terms of its fullness and roundness. The aromatic expression reveals great complexity and finesse. The aftertaste is characterized by roasted notes of cocoa beans.
