This 7-hectare vineyard is individualized by its grape varieties in which Merlot dominates which gives finesse, elegance and fruitiness to the wines and which allows them to age well in the best cellars. This cuvée is made up of 90% Merlot 5% Cabernet-Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines have an average age of 40 years and flourish on clay-gravelly or clay-sandy soil depending on the plot. Iron dross (ferrous residues in the form of iron oxide) are present in the soils giving the Merlot its velvety and round appearance.
Vinification is done in tapered vats using modern thermoregulation techniques during fermentation.
The aging is done partly in barrels of one or two wines (barrels already used for the aging of one or two vintages). The other part is aged in stainless steel vats. This lasts about 12 months before being bottled at the Château.
Solary year
As for the tasting, you will be amazed by the frank ruby color. On the nose let yourself be carried away by a nose reminiscent of small red fruits (blackcurrant, raspberry). The mouth is elegant, round, in the finesse of the tannins.
