12 months in barrels (25% new, 65% used for a previous vintage and 10% for two previous vintages) in an underground cellar specially designed for ageing.
2015 is clearly an exceptional vintage. Exceptional in the primary sense, meaning that it has an originality of character and a potential that cannot be compared to any other. Harvesting began just after 22 September in the earliest areas and ended in early October with the Cabernet Franc. One thing is certain, you would have to be really clumsy not to produce a quality wine in 2015!
Very beautiful deep ruby colour. The first nose evokes black fruit basket, blueberry jam, with a slight touch of oak and spicy Zan. On the palate, the attack is ample and elegant, without any aggressiveness; the tannins are round and harmonious with a finish reminiscent of ripe and candied fruit. The acidity is low but gently boosts the finish to make Haut-Chaigneau 2015.
