Vineyard soils, mostly gravel, consist of small stone. Vineyards occupy approximately 48 hectares.
In the manufacture of Chateau Haut-Brion, after harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and crushed, and then placed in a special double fermentation tank, fermentation takes place in the upper part, and malolactic fermentation takes place in the lower part, while the wine is moved by gravity.
Excerpt wine takes from 18 to 22 months in oak barrels, 80% of which are new. About 10-12 thousand cases of wine are produced annually.
The wine is surprisingly bright and rich color. The wine has pronounced shades of blackcurrant, cinnamon, vanilla and light notes of green pepper and olives. Pleasant wine with soft tannins and a long finish. The bouquet of Chateau Haut-Brion 2002 combines aromas of raspberries, chocolate soufflé, smoke, ripe cherries and light hints of minerals.
