The Moscato di Noto vineyards are located in Marzamemi (SR), Sicily, at an altitude of 50 meters above sea level. The soil is calcareous with a fine texture, and the planting density is 4,800 plants per hectare. The vines are trained on a trellis with spur pruning. The grapes are hand-picked in the second decade of August and then dried on reed mats in the sun for 15/20 days.
The vinification process includes destemming and gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by maceration on the skins for 2 days.
The wine ages for 2 months in the bottle. It can be stored horizontally at 10-12°C and continues to mature for several years after the harvest if kept in a suitable environment.
The first production vintage dates back to 2010, with a production of about 5,000 bottles per harvest.
Al Hamen has a bright golden yellow color. The nose presents sensations of candied fruit, apricot jam, honeyed hints, and aromatic herbs. The palate shows a great balance between softness and freshness, with returns of candied fruit, dates, and pastry for a lively and persistent finish. It pairs well with blue and aged cheeses, almond pastries, Sicilian cannoli, and peach tarts.
