The grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of September when Sangiovese reaches the perfect maturation to create a wine with great potential for ageing. All the grapes come from the single vineyard, our Cru, where vines are more than 20 years old.
It is vinified in the big wooden barrels, with a hand punch down of the cap daily and a long maceration on the skins. Malolactic fermentation and successive refinement in oak barrels of 40hL for around 10-12 months. Bottling occurs without filtration to ensure the vivacity of the wine.
Big oak barrels.
This elegant wine has pronounced aromas of black cherry, cherry stone and dark plums. Thanks to ageing in the big oak barrels, lifted fruity hints are complemented by harmonious scents of liquorice, sweet spices, earth notes and a little bit vanilla. Mouthcoating texture of Nicole, velvety tannins and a long finish make you enjoy this moment.
