Description
Viticulture
Our Morgon Côte du Py comes from very old south-east facing plots that are rich in schist, decomposed granite and hard blue stone called ‘Pierres Bleues’, set at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. The wine is matured in old oak barrels for 18 months to allow it to round out.
Vinification
Whole bunch Carbonic maceration Maturing in concrete vats for 8 months, then 18 months in old 300 and 450 L barrels. Bottling under CO2
Tasting notes
Eye: Deep garnet Nose: Complex, vanilla notes, aromatic power Palate: Velvety tannins, ripe stone fruit flavours including black cherry, chocolate notes, long and elegant finish
