Sustainable agriculture
In oak vats
Aged in barrels
A year of ups and downs, a rollercoaster ride in terms of morale... Then the lull, the sublime summer and the magnificent autumn. Despite the trying weather conditions, with a spring that was more favourable to the development of mildew than to the vines, which caused significant crop losses, the high level of sunshine in the summer, combined with cool nights, enabled the grapes to reach an extraordinary level of maturity.
The colour is dense and deep. The first nose transports us into a mishmash of black fruits, a sign of the beautiful maturity of the grape varieties making up the La Sergue trilogy: blackberry for the Merlot, Cerisebigarreau for the Malbec and cooked raspberry for the Cabernet Franc. The ageing process has sublimated the integration of the terroirs and brings the typical notes of cedar and liquorice characteristic of this wine. The beautiful material of La Sergue 2018 is then generously delivered in the mouth; a voluptuous wine without heaviness, simply sumptuous. Great capacity for ageing and the temptation to consume it without delay clash violently for our greatest pleasure.
