Integrated viticulture - Drastic reduction in the use of phytosanitary products in the vineyard.
In oak vats. Each plot is vinified separately using the most modern techniques, but in the pure Bordeaux tradition.
16 months in oak barrels (65% new barrels and 35% one-wine barrels) in a specially designed underground cellar, ideal for maturing.
The sun that reigned almost unchallenged over the vines during the three months of summer and the Indian summer in Bordeaux have produced a vintage of La Sergue that is already surprisingly good.
The wines obtained are abundant, the most generous vintage since 2009, very colourful and concentrated, fresh with fat tannins and black and spicy fruit: blackberry and blueberry for the Merlot, bigarreau cherry for the Malbec, blackcurrant liqueur for the Cabernet Franc, combine brilliantly. The tannin content gives this 2016 vintage great potential for development; the delicate barrel ageing has helped to tame their power and complete the aromatic complexity of this excellent ensemble. La Sergue 2016 is certainly an exceptional vintage.
