After a cold, dry winter, the cool, wet spring extended into June. The summer starts late; the heat definitely sets in at the beginning of August, so much so that the summer is declared the hottest since 2003.
Very intense colour, almost black. Without aeration and agitation, the typical aromatic character of LA SERGUE is clearly recognisable: blackberry, blackcurrant, peony, bourbon vanilla. After a few turns in the glass, the aromas develop and become more complex. First, a note of baked apple is added, followed by a touch of old dark rum. The attack in the mouth is firm without more, the tannin is very fresh and without dryness, supple just as it should be. The volume in the mouth is pleasant and enveloping.
