In the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers, near Créon, the vineyards of Chateau Haut-Pougnan extend over the slopes of the right bank of the Garonne, on superb clay-limestone and gravelly soils. It is the clay-limestone nature of these soils that makes it possible to obtain very fine wines with such a subtle bouquet.
The red wine aged for one year in oak barrels blossoms after three to five years. The great vintages age harmoniously in the cellar for eight to ten years.
The red wine, full-bodied, fruity, has a particularly well-calculated tannicity. With a very beautiful color, it continues to please with its elegance and balance in the mouth.
