CHATEAU LE PAPE (LEOGNAN) CHATEAU CARBONNIEUX Grand Cru Classé de Graves Red 2016 Pessac-Léognan

Red

Description

Viticulture

A deep layer of clay-containing gravel soil provides excellent drainage for 32-year-old vines. The vineyard practiced the formation of a bush "double guyot". The vines are planted quite densely - 7200 vines/ha.

Vinification

Harvesting is done by hand, the grapes are double-selected. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and lasts 3-4 weeks.

Wine aging

The wine matures for 15-18 months in barriques, of which 30% are new.

Tasting notes

Wine of deep garnet-purple color. The taste of wine is round, soft, with fruity tones, notes of graphite, cigar and smoke, with fine-grained tannins and light mineral tints in a long aftertaste. The wine conquers with a generous, rich aroma, woven from notes of plum, blackcurrant, earth, crushed stone and cigar.
